Capital One | POTS Team | Plano, TX (2020-2021)
I joined Capital One’s POTS (Process Optimization & Transformation Services) team in Plano, Texas, just a few months before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of 12 talented colleagues, with a shared mission to deliver an innovative, automated tool that accurately measured automotive loan volume at Capital One. This tool played a crucial role in providing key insights that helped business stakeholders make data-driven decisions for shaping the company’s strategies related to auto financing.
Auto Loan Portfolio
Throughout my time on the project, I contributed to both the technical development and business alignment of the tool, ensuring that it met the needs of the stakeholders while maintaining a focus on scalability, accuracy, and user-friendly design. By leveraging advanced data analytics and automation technologies, we were able to streamline reporting processes, significantly reduce manual effort, and enable more timely insights for decision-making. This tool ultimately empowered business leaders to make informed decisions that drove growth and optimizations in Capital One’s auto loan portfolio.

During my collaboration on the Capital One POTS project as a full-stack developer, I contributed across both the backend and frontend development efforts. On the backend, I worked with Java Spring Boot to design and implement robust API services, ensuring seamless integration and data flow. For the data science aspects, I utilized Python, employing various libraries and frameworks to analyze complex datasets and provide stakeholders with insights into the key factors influencing auto financing decisions. These insights were integral for the development of automated tools tailored to optimize loan approval processes.
On the frontend, we leveraged Angular for dynamic and responsive web applications, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience. Additionally, I integrated D3.js to create interactive, data-driven visualizations, allowing stakeholders to easily interpret and interact with various performance metrics through dynamic charts and graphs. This combination of backend and frontend technologies enabled the team to deliver a comprehensive and highly functional solution for the auto financing domain.
